Born from a dream
we craft limited release wine
Duck Hollow takes its name from our Founder’s home vineyard, marking the beginning of Duck Hollow as a modern Australian wine brand, rooted in place, yet inspired by the world beyond it.
Our wines are created for the curious and the soulful. Globally inspired, distinctly Australian, and made to be enjoyed with good food and great company.
Meet our Founder
Emma White, a corporate executive turned wine connoisseur, created the Duck Hollow brand having been inspired through her global travels and studies of wine and viticulture.
Born of Emma’s exploration of the world’s wine regions where culture, cuisine, and local communities intertwine, her vision for Duck Hollow is to bring that sense of place from these wine regions to Australian lovers of wine. Using premium Australian grown fruit with regional lineage, the wines remain faithful to varietal and regional expression. Each Duck Hollow Collection represents a personal wine journey of Emma’s, brought
back to Australia to be enjoyed by all.
Emma saw many European grape varieties being grown in Australia, yet the resulting wines often looked and tasted very different from their traditional regional expressions. While exciting in their own right, she felt they rarely showed what these grapes could truly achieve when grown with intent and deep respect for their origins.
Determined to explore the full potential of these varieties, without being bound by European labelling laws or stylistic rules, Emma set out to source exceptional fruit from premium Australian growers. Working closely with winemaker Adam Holmberg, she focused on expressing each grape in a way that stays true to the character of its homeland, while letting Australia’s soils and climate speak clearly through the glass.
The result is a collection of wines shaped by
regional tradition, guided by modern Australian winemaking, and driven by curiosity rather than convention, wines that honour where the grape comes from, not just where it is grown.
Meet our Winemaker
Adam Holmberg has spent his career honing the art of winemaking with fruits from multiple wine regions. Having originally trained as a winemaker at Tyrell’s, in the Hunter Valley, his 26 years of experience includes working with some of Australia’s most respected winemakers, including Andrew Spinaze (Tyrrell’s), Mark Woods (Leogate Estate) and Sarah Crowe (Yarra Yering). His career has been shaped by working in some of the world’s most respected wine regions, including vintages in Sonoma and Central Otago, learning to work with different vineyards, fruit and growing conditions.
Adam’s philosophy blends traditional techniques with modern thinking, placing strong emphasis on vineyard expression, vintage variation and crafting wines of authenticity, balance and character.
Together Emma and Adam work with exceptional growers to create wines of nuance, depth and quiet confidence. Global wine collections, reimagined through an Australian lens.
Why We Release As Collections
We release our wines as curated collections, each inspired by iconic wine regions around the world, allowing us to tell a complete and focused story of place at a single moment in time. By showcasing different regions as individual collections, you can truly experience the versatility, character and influence of each region through the wines themselves. Every collection is thoughtfully crafted and released only once, meaning once it sells out it is gone for good, making each wine distinctive, expressive and genuinely special.
